Iris van Herpen is seeking a talented Head of Atelier to lead and oversee the creation of our annual Haute Couture collection and bespoke client orders. This pivotal role requires both creative vision and technical expertise, ensuring the seamless realization of groundbreaking designs that push the boundaries of Haute Couture.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the development of the annual collection, from concept to completion.

  • Plan, organize, and supervise the construction of each garment, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship and innovation.

  • Oversee sample development and tailor-made client orders, ensuring impeccable fit and execution.

  • Act as the main contact for clients, providing guidance on design customization and fitting processes.

  • Budgeting and costings for the client orders, to stay within target.

  • Utilize expertise in patternmaking to create and adapt made-to-measure patterns.

  • Oversee the placement of laser-cut files in garment patterns using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring precision and alignment with the design vision.

  • Collaborate closely with Iris, artisans, and petites mains to ensure fluid communication and timely delivery.

Job requirements

  • Extensive experience in Haute Couture and bridal, with proven leadership in managing an atelier.

  • Deep knowledge of couture construction, patternmaking, and advanced garment techniques.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly for laser-cut pattern integration.

  • Exceptional organizational and managerial skills, with the ability to oversee complex projects and timelines.

  • Strong communication skills, with a client-focused approach and attention to detail.

  • Passion for innovation and experimentation in fashion, with a commitment to pushing the boundaries of couture artistry.
